Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Sentious collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past, and it describes what we actually do.
Information we collect
We collect the information you type into one of our enquiry forms. That is your email address, which is required, and — where you choose to provide them — your first and last name, your company, the topic you select, and the message you write.
Alongside that we record which page you submitted the form from, so we know what you were reading when you got in touch, and the date and time of the submission.
Our forms include a hidden field that real people never see or fill in. If it comes back with anything in it we treat the submission as automated and discard it. We do not store its contents.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, payment details, government identifiers, or any of the special categories of data described in data protection law. Please do not include them in a message to us.
How we use information
We use what you send us to reply to you, to understand what you are asking for, and to keep a record of the conversation so that a colleague can pick it up.
We do not use it to build an advertising profile, we do not enrich it against third-party data brokers, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Legal bases for processing
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our work, and on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
You are never required to contact us, and you can ask us to erase what you sent at any time.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, advertising, session-recording or A/B-testing scripts. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Our typefaces are compiled into the site when it is built rather than fetched from a font service, so visiting a page does not tell a third party that you were here.
How we share information
We share enquiry data with the small number of service providers that operate this site and our systems, and with nobody else. Those providers act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we need to in order to establish or defend a legal claim. If that ever happens we will tell you, unless we are prohibited from doing so.
Service providers
Vercel hosts this website and our application services. As part of serving a page it processes standard request data, including IP addresses, in its server logs.
A managed PostgreSQL database stores enquiries submitted through our forms.
If we add a provider that processes personal data, we will update this section before the change goes live.
International transfers
Our infrastructure providers operate globally, so information you send may be processed outside the country you live in, including in the United States.
Where data protection law requires a transfer safeguard, we rely on the mechanisms our providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
Data retention
We keep enquiries for as long as we are in conversation with you, and for a period afterwards so that we have a record of what was discussed.
Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted once they are clearly no longer live. If you ask us to delete yours sooner, we will.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form.
If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect and to ask us to delete it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, use the contact form on this site and tell us what you would like. We will not ask you for more information than we need to find your record and confirm it is yours.
If you are in the UK or the EU and you think we have handled your data badly, you are entitled to complain to your local supervisory authority. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Children
This is a business website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit, and access to the systems holding enquiry data is limited to people who need it.

Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Where a change is significant, we will do more than that to bring it to your attention.
